5 Ways to Raise Your Energy in Less than 5 Minutes

Trying to keep our energy high can be a challenge – sometimes life just gets in the way! And as much as we might like to think that we have the power to remain unaffected by our circumstances, it takes a lot of practice to get to that point.

There are lots of different reasons as to why you might want to raise your energy and lemme tell you, all of them are great reasons. When we raise our energy, we change our vibration. This not only helps you but also benefits everyone and everything around us – so it’s always a good idea.

Maybe you’re trying to work with the Law of Attraction to increase your income…

Maybe you want to feel less impatient and be more present with your children…

Or maybe you’re just fed up with feeling low and stressed out.

Whatever it might be, here are 5 ways to raise your energy and vibration in less than 5 minutes.

1. Write a gratitude list

Take a pen and paper (or open your phone notes) and write a list of 10-20 things that you’re grateful for. The more you can get down the better!

It could be your breath, your body, your child’s laugh, the fact that we have FaceTime at our endless disposal during this otherwise very isolating time – there are 4 to get you started….

As you write your list, take a moment to really feel how grateful you are for each individual thing. Let it paint a smile on your face and lighten your body.

2. Dance

Put on a song that makes you want to sing from the rooftops and dance. Sure, you might feel silly at first. But I guarantee that by the time the song is over you’ll be ready for at least 20 more minutes of it…

3. Practise white light meditation

Find a comfortable position – sitting or lying – close your eyes, keep your palms facing up, and relax your body as you start to breathe in and out through the nose.

After a minute or so of breathing, start to visualise a white light coming from above you and entering into your body through the crown of your head. Visualise the white light moving through your body, filling your cells and permeating your skin until eventually, you’re glowing like the beautiful soul that you are.

Sit with this white light filling you up and surrounding you for at least a couple of minutes – but really, for as long as you can! When thoughts pop into your mind, visualise the white light washing them away.

4. Practise square breathing

It’s helpful to have a go-to breathing technique that you can use when you feel anxious, stressed, or in need of an energy boost. Square breathing is a simple way to get started when learning how to use the breath. Here’s how to do it:

Get comfortable and close your eyes as you start to breathe in and out through the nose.

Breathe in for the count of 4, then hold for the count of 4.

Breathe out for the count of 4, then hold for the count of 4.

Repeat this for a few minutes, paying particular attention to the pauses (or holds) between each breath. Notice the calming effect that these pauses have on your body.

5. Journal

When you feel overwhelmed by negative thoughts – whether these are caused by something external or from within – watching them swirl around your head is only going to make them worse.

Get a pen and paper and write down everything that you’re feeling/thinking. Nothing is off limits. Give yourself 3-5 minutes to write without judgement, stopping to correct what you’ve written, or thinking about what you’re going to write.

Just let it aaaaaall out.
